On December 14, Jiang Wu, Professor at the School of Information Management, Wuhan University, General Secretary of Hubei E-Commerce Society, Director of the Center for E-commerce Research and Development, Wuhan University, published an article entitled Promote Upgrading of Rural E-commerce and Achieve Revitalization of Rural in Hubei Province at the Chinese Social Sciences Net. The article discussed the current situation of rural e-commerce in Hubei Province, and proposed strategies of the promotion of e-commerce upgrading so as to achieve rural revitalization.
The article pointed out that the rural e-commerce in Hubei Province has a good development trend, and it has mainly achieved two achievements. The first is the online retail sales in rural areas are increasing year by year. The second is to provide opportunities for farmers to obtain employment and increase their income locally. In order to better promote the high-quality development of rural e-commerce in Hubei Province and make full use of the established high-quality basic infrastructure and resources, it is necessary to take industry, enterprises and talents as main bodies, make good use of the advantages of industry-university-research and digital development, and improve the development system of rural e-commerce. First, strengthen the integration of primary, secondary and tertiary industries to achieve complementary development. Second, strengthen the leading industrial enterprises and create an advantageous pattern. Third, increase the training of high-end talents and lay a solid foundation for brainpower.
In this article, it is emphasized that relying on theNational Key R&D Project Integration and Application Demonstration of Rural Culture and Tourism Cloud Service Technology, by building Rural Jolly Meet, which isa national integrated service platform of agriculture, business, culture and tourism, with the help of new generation information technologies such as Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, etc., three application systems of digital rural smart management, service and marketing have been established, which will play an important integration function in the integration of primary, secondary and tertiary industries and promote deep integration and complementary development of industries. With the "third-party+" open mode, integrate supply chains of a great variety of agricultural products, cultural and innovative products and tourism products, and make application demonstration in Hubei Province.
This article analyzed the situation of Hubei Province’s rural e-commerce, however, it can also be used as a reference for the development of e-commerce in rural areas of other provinces in China.
